The 2021 Ford F150
New and Exciting from Grille to Tailgate
While the year 2020 may not exactly go down in the history books as a year known for good news, fans of Ford’s F150 trucks absolutely have something to cheer about. The 14th generation of America’s favorite truck is set to launch in October 2020, and what we know so far is that the new design and the slate of upgraded features are fresh, modern, and totally fierce. If you’re yearning for something to look forward to, this truck is it. You’ll find your new 2021 Ford F150 in Memphis, TN, at Ford of West Memphis.

Style, Style, and More Style
While, technically speaking, the 2021 F150 is not an all-new truck, it nevertheless sports a significantly new look. Every visible body panel inside and out has been redesigned and restyled, making an already handsome truck look even more up to date and attractive.
Outside
Viewed from the outside, the 2021 F150 is sleek and graceful. The grille is less blocky, the hood and fenders are seamless, the wheel arches are muscular, and the lower door skins have a classic chamfered contour. The tailgate features a fender vent rather than a simple model badge, giving the new pickup a dose of on-fleek, somewhat retro, Super Duty styling. Additionally, since at its heart, the F150 is a working truck, designers incorporated a number of useful features into the bed, including notches in the top rail that can easily accommodate C-clamps and a cell-phone slot and a deep cup holder in the gate. On optional generator can produce up to 7.2kW for powering your work, and your play and power-operated running boards extend down the side, creating a handy step for reaching into the generous cargo area.
You will love the way this truck looks.
Inside
The ongoing competition with Ram required Ford to make significant upgrades to the interior, and the 2021 F150 really elevates the game. Premium materials are used throughout; the leather and trim look fabulous. But it’s not all about the looks; you’ll find interior appointments designed to make life on the road easier and more comfortable than ever before.
- The 10-speed automatic shift lever folds flat with the center console to create a large, flat workspace.
- The cabin includes numerous storage spaces.
- The Max Recline front seats fold flat for comfortable sleeping.
- The four-door crew cab is the most spacious, family-friendly passenger space ever.
- The optional locking, rear, under-seat storage compartment offers secure and spacious cargo space.
Technology makes a significant impact on the interior design of the 2021 F150. The dashboard is a completely new design and accommodates the optional 12.0-inch, integrated, horizontally-oriented, touchscreen display. The instrument cluster includes your choice of a standard 4.0-inch screen between analog gauges or a full 12.3-inch digital display. Climate controls are still, thank goodness, physical buttons. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard. Options are anticipated to include a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, SiriusXM radio, and a premium stereo system from Bang & Olufsen. Ford’s Sync 4 software provides updates, traffic and weather info, and onboard telematics for fleet customers.
You’ll find the expected advanced driving aids like adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring, but Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite also offers a few new and exciting items on 2021 models. The most interesting by far is Active Drive Assist, which claims to enable hands-free driving on specified divided highways throughout the US and Canada. This software won’t be ready at launch; to get it, you need to buy the Active Drive Assist prep kit and then pay an additional fee for the software when it’s ready in late 2021.
The Pro Power Onboard system is another new 2021 feature. This onboard power station lets you charge tools when parked or driving. You tap into the power via an outlet located in the bed; you can charge up to four devices using 120-volt 20-amp outlets. On the hybrid, you also get a 240-volt 30-amp outlet as well. This onboard power station is perfect for charging tools on the job site or powering a mobile refrigerator; whatever you’ve got going on, the 2021 F150 can keep you powered up.
You will love the way you feel in this truck.
Under the Hood
Rest assured, the 2021 Ford F150’s appeal is not limited to cosmetics; performance also gets a healthy boost in the new model.
The big news about the new F150 is the all-new PowerBoost V6 hybrid powertrain. This best-in-class powertrain starts with the F150 3.5-liter V6 and adds a 47-hp electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. Ford asserts that this hybrid powertrain produces more torque and more horsepower than other full-size pickups on the market today. This is a full hybrid system; it doesn’t just power accessories like the Ram, is actually boosts power output. While EPA ratings are not yet available, it’s estimated that the range is 700 miles on a single tank of gas. This powertrain will be available as an option on all trims.
Also available are a range of Ford engines that are much like last year’s lineup. The base engine remains a 3.3-liter V6 paired exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Also available are a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6, a non-hybrid turbocharged 3.5 liter V6, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, and a 5.0-liter V8. Ford has not announced yet whether the high-output 3.5-liter V6 previously paired with the F-150 Raptor will return.
You will love the way this truck drives.
